General surf information
Waves at Mandiri beach can be excellent quality. With multiple left and right peaks this beach can handle a large crowd. Facing south-west its a good bet on small days.
Mandiri is best surfed Feb to May when off-shore winds prevail, winds can also be favorable November to January. June to October howling cross and on-shore winds turn Mandiri Beach into an out of control mess. You might be lucky and score 1 clean morning a month but the sand banks will be in tatters.
Over 1.5 mtrs in offshore conditions with good banks you can expect board breaking heavy spitting barrels and only for the experienced. On smaller days its a good spot for beginners and experienced surfers to enjoy surfing over sand rather than reef.
From Krui head South, in about 25 min you will begin to see the coast through the coconut palms, look out for the Mandiri Beach Club. Surf breaks are right out front. From Tanjung Setia head North for 15 min.
On bigger days timing is everything, the rip here can quickly drag you 500 mtrs down the beach and boards get broken just paddling out.
