Traveling from Jakarta to South Sumatra

Jakarta to Bandar Lampung by air

Flying from the Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to Bandar Udara Radin Inten II Airport is the most common way to arrive in Sumatra.

Soekarno-Hatta airport has 3 terminals 5-10 min apart, transport between terminals is by taxi or the Free Yellow Shuttle Bus that runs every 20 - 30 min.

Depending on your arrival time and what you have planned for the next day in Sumatra an overnight stay in Jakarta might be the best choice.

The free shuttle bus

Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport

The recent upgrades to Terminal 3 make longer transit period very comfortable for those flying Garuda, Terminal 1 & 2 are ok for shorter transit periods.

The Jakarta Airport Hotel in Terminal 2 has reopened and there is a wide range of hotels close to the airport. I can personally recommend the Swiss Belinn, very close to the airport, well maintained, friendly staff, breakfast and an airport shuttle bus.
